It seems strange a 40-year-old maple tree has been cut down on Canvey.
After all the years councillor Ray Howard has served Canvey, is he now starting to lose the plot?
I agree with John Potter and Richard Smith, there was nothing wrong with this tree and the reason it was cut down was to give a better view for the flats being built opposite.
Might I also point out the £12.5million being wasted on a new road development, again proposed by councillor Ray Howard.
It's just an absolute waste of money and will do nothing to alleviate the problems that people on Canvey will suffer due to traffic.
Sorry councillor Howard, but since you have held the position of cabinet member for the environment, your defence of Canvey is weakening.
