The only debate concerning Southend swimming pools is among ratepayers. There is no debate with Southend Council.
My assessment of what is planned is to demolish Warriors pool and replace it with flats, a mini park and an oversized bath and paddling pool in a private leisure centre offering therapeutic swimming services to the public at Garons Park.
Basildon councillors must be old fashioned. They try to serve their ratepayers, not rule them as in Southend.
