I write in reply to Pat Thew, who was concerned about recycling (Apr 8).
Rochford District Council is about to embark on a major expansion of its recycling scheme.
Our Recycling News is an effective means of communication, the costs of which can be fully justified against the increase in income from recycling materials we will achieve.
We have responded to the wishes of residents to expand the recycling facilities for plastics and shortly they will be able to recycle most plastic at the kerbside.
We will continue to work with Essex County Council, which manages the Castle Road recycling centre, and ensure advice to residents on what can be recycled is clear.
