Fire crews have extinguished a huge fire at an industrial unit on Canvey.
Essex Fire and Rescue's control team received reports of a fire in Shannon Way today at 1.45pm and sent crews from Canvey, Southend, Basildon and Orsett.
They also sent an Aerial Ladder Platform from Grays.
When they arrived at the scene, firefighters found a building alight.
It measured about 15 metres by 20 metres and contained paper, cardboard and plastic.
Crews extinguished the fire by 3.30pm and remained at the scene to dampen down.
Station Manager Steve Osborn said: "Crews worked extremely hard to get the fire under control and extinguish it.
"I'd like to thank nearby businesses for their patience and co-operation while we dealt with this incident."
