POLICE probe after two 13-year-old boys are threatened in an attempted robbery by three men wearing balaclavas.

Essex Police are appealing for witnesses after reports of an attempted robbery on two young teenagers.

The incident occurred at around 6:30pm on Sunday, September 18, at John Burrows Playfield in Hadleigh.

Thankfully the young victims managed to run away unharmed.

Reports on social media suggest the pair were threatened with a knife while the group tried to rob them.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: “We were contacted yesterday, September 21 to report an attempted robbery which occurred at John Burrows Playfield in Hadleigh on Sunday evening, September 18. 

“The two young victims were approached by a group of three men wearing balaclavas.

“The men threatened to rob them.

“The victims managed to run away.

“Nothing was stolen, and no injuries were reported to us. 

“Anyone who witnessed anything in the area and may have any further information is encouraged to contact us.”
