FANS expecting to see Jason Donovan at the Cliffs Pavilion have been disappointed the last two nights.
Jason, alongside Alexandra Burke, star in the the smash-hit production of Joseph and His Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat – on at Southend’s Cliffs Pavilion until Saturday, October 1.
The run, which began on Monday, attracted such demand that an extra show had to be scheduled for 2.30pm today (Thursday, September 29).

But fans have been left feeling less than satisfied after Jason Donovan pulled out of Tuesday night’s performance and was also missing again last night.
Jason Donovan was taken ill just 10 minutes before Tuesday night’s 7.30pm show, Southend Theatres has said.
It is not known when he will return.
One upset fan said: “The rest of the show is good and cast are clearly talented.
“Just a shame the reason I booked the tickets wasn't there. There was no announcement or prior warning from the cliffs. Huge disappointment.”
A spokesman for Southend Theatres said: “Sadly performers, like the rest of us, can be taken ill and their place taken by an understudy.
“There has certainly not been any attempt to mislead customers. He was actually taken unwell 10 minutes before the start of the performance on Tuesday night and we are hopeful that he will be returning later this week.
“The show was delivered to an extremely high standard despite Jason being absent.”
Alexandra Burke and Jason Donovan will not be appearing in today’s 2.30pm performance; the role of the narrator will be played by Meg Darcey and Pharaoh will be played by Matt Gibson.
