A MAJOR Basildon road is reportedly closed in both directions with a police cordon in place.
The A176, Upper Mayne, is closed both directions with traffic building around Basildon.
It is believed there is also a police cordon in place, along the Upper Mayne road.

There are currently no reasons known as to why the road is closed, but it was reportedly closed during the night.
Essex Police has been contacted for comment on the closure and cordon.
