A Corringham road is shut in both directions due to gas works - with buses being diverted.
Southend Road in Corringham is closed in both directions between Garage Corner-and Whitepost Corner roundabouts.
First Essex bus services have been affected due to the gas works and the road closure in the town.
The bus firm and Thurrock Council has taken to Twitter to inform residents, road and bus users.
A First Essex spokesman said on Twitter: "Due to the road being closed in both directions, the 100 and 200 service are being diverted through Fobbing in both directions. This means the 100 service will not be able to serve Lampits Hill or Corringham social in both directions until further notice."
