Southend has been host to stars of the screen many times over the years.

The city’s seafront often makes a good location for shoots, as it did in 1985 when EastEnders stars Wendy Richard, Bill Treacher, and Susan Tully were filmed at the Three Shells.

The most recent occasiontime the EastEnders crew and actors visited Southend was in March.

James Bye and Lacey Turner, Martin and Stacey on the show, were spotted filming in Adventure Island before the heading into Shoebury’s East Beach sea.

Chef Jamie Oliver is a regular in the city, filming Jamie & Jimmy’s Friday Night Feast in the cafe pier.

And the TOWIE cast were snapped filming scenes for the ITVBe on the beach earlier this month, a busy time for filming in the city, which has seen itthe city host the cast and crew of Tate: Two Days of Blood – A Rise of the Footsoldier story – the sixth film in the hit UK crime franchise.
