Two south Essex charity supporters are in the running for the Pride of Essex Awards tonight as they raise vital funds.

Matilda has made it through to the top five in the Child of Courage Category, and Noah's Rainbow is in the top five for the Community Champion Category.

Matilda has been nominated for her fundraising efforts for Little Havens, based in Benfleet, in memory of her sister Bella who died in August 2021.

Her fundraising has ranged from a toy drive for Bella's birthday to completing 60,000 star jumps in one month because she thinks the Care Team are stars.

A Havens Hospices spokesman said: "We're wishing a massive good luck to two of our incredible supporters who are attending The Pride Of Essex Awards tonight."

Noah’s Rainbow has also been recognised for the vital funds it has raised for Little Havens and another charity, Abbie's Army.

Noah's Rainbow is dedicated to Kat and Nick's son Noah who was supported by Little Havens throughout his illness.

Kat says, "Despite our grief, pain and huge loss, we remain thankful for Noah's life, however short.

"He touched so many lives, brought people together and spread joy with all he met."

The Pride of Essex Awards recognise selfless and inspiring individuals from across the county.

The charity spokesman added: "Please join us in wishing Matilda and Noah's Rainbow good luck for tonight's awards.

"We are so grateful for your ongoing support, raising vital funds for Little Havens in memory of Bella and Noah, and helping us continue 'Making every day count' for families when they need us most."
