All c2c lines were reportedly blocked this afternoon after a security alert at a south Essex train station.
Commuters are facing cancellations and delays to services on all routes after the alert at Tilbury Town this afternoon.
Train services running across the whole c2c network will be cancelled, delayed or revised, the train operator has warned.
A c2c spokesman tweeted: "Due to a security alert at Tilbury Town all line is blocked (sic).
"Train services running across the whole c2c network may be cancelled, delayed or revised."
Train services running across the whole c2c network are now returning to normal but some services will still be delayed by up to 14 minutes or revised.
Disruption is expected until 2pm, according to the c2c website.
If your journey has been disrupted by more than 15 minutes, you may be entitled to cash compensation. Visit c2c-online.co.uk/help-feedback/delay-repay for information.
