DRINK driving and speeding are some of the most selfish crimes to commit.

Not only are you taking your own life into your hands, but you are putting at risk everyone else on the roads.

Here we take a look at the south Essex drivers found guilty of roads crimes in the few months.

Robert Stephen Amos pleaded guilty to driving above the alcohol limit at Southend Magistrates' Court on November 21.

The 32-year-old was caught in Fullarton Crescent, South Ockendon, driving a Vauxhall Vectra while withy 58 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeded the legal limit.

Amos, of Cherwell Grove, South Ockendon, was fined £120 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34.

He was also disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 16 months.

Wesley Gray was found guilty of driving over the 40mph speed limit on the A13 bypass eastbound near Stanford-le-Hope on January 19.

The 44-year-old was fined £220 at the same court on November 11.

He was ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £34 and to pay costs of £620 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

Gray, of Gainsborough Avenue, Tilbury, was also slapped with three points on his licence.
