If so, these new job listings might be perfect for you. 

The attraction is currently advertising for five jobs including everything from a train driver to a landscaping gardener.

Play area assistant

This role will see you supporting play area managers and other team members, to perform the required daily tasks and ensure guests receive a warm, friendly and memorable experience at the zoo.

The successful applicant will also support in outlets around the zoo, including the sand shop, inflatables and face painting, whilst engaging in activities in the zoo’s interactive area.

The deadline for applications falls on Tuesday, January 31.

Soft landscaping gardener

This position will see you working across the site to deliver a range of maintenance activities, ensuring that the presentation of the zoo’s gardens give a favourable impression.

The successful applicant will install and maintain plants, as well as overseeing the welfare of the Zoo’s gardens and gardening equipment.

The deadline for applications falls on Tuesday, February 28.

Construction and maintenance

This position will see you working across the site to deliver a range of maintenance and construction activities in construction, groundwork, demolition and labouring.

The successful applicant will ensure that the presentation of Colchester Zoo’s facilities provide a favourable impression, working along the premises to deal with construction and maintenance needs.

The deadline for applications is Wednesday, February 1.

Retail host

This position will see you meeting and greeting customers as they enter the store, showing interest in customers and aiding them as they shop.

 You will also build rapport with customers and handle payments, meaning the position holder will keep up to date with the availability of services, promotion and pricing.

The successful applicant will need to advise guests as necessary and maximise sale opportunities, through up-selling where appropriate and replenishing product lines to maximise sales.

The deadline for applications is Friday, February 24.

Train driver

This position will see you operating the tourist train in a safe manner, providing the guests with information relevant to their experience.

The successful applicant will also need to maintain the road trains and carry out both daily and weekly checks.
