An empty shop in Eastwood looks set to be transformed into a new nail salon after a bid was approved.

Southend City Council have green-lit a proposal this week to transform a shop in Rayleigh Road into a nail salon.

The council received a proposal for a lawul development certificate to convert the former frozen pet food shop into a new nail salon.

Granting the certificate, the council decision states: "On the basis of the information available, the use of the site as a retail store and the proposed nail studio use both fall within Use Class E."

It continues: "A change of use within the same use class is not development controlled by the planning system. The proposed use is therefore lawful."

The Riva Frozen Pet Foods shop will be converted internally into the nail salon.
