A SOUTHEND rugby player has raised thousands of pounds after taking on the Seville Marathon.
Southend Saxons rugby player Daniel Forster-Knight got a personal best and raised more than £3,500 where he took of the challenge.
Daniel, who likes to don budgie smugglers to run, was raising money for Macmillan.
The Rayleigh-based semi-professional rugby player and his team mate at Southend Saxons RFC, Blue Newton, had a successful run, with Dan completing the marathon in three hours and 30 minutes.
The Seville Marathon starts and finishes on the Paseo De Las Delicas, Daniel and Blue and took place on Sunday February 19 with more than 12,000 competitors taking part.
Daniel said: ‘This might be my last marathon for a while but I’ve got my sights set on the Iron Man challenge before I hit the big 30 so training won’t stop!.”
