HERE are 10 Easter events in south Essex to set you up for a chocolate and bunny-filled time.

  • Meet adorable farm lambs, chicks, ducklings, goats, ponies and rabbits animals at Scott’s of Southend Garden Centre. The free event will run on Thursday April 6 to 8, during usual opening hours. See www.scottsofsouthend.co.uk.
  • There will be an Easter treasure hunt on Sunday April 9 from noon to 3pm at the Essex Horse and Pony Protection Society in Pitsea Hall Lane. People are asked to book for the event and it costs £10 per child. See www.ehpps.org.uk. 
  •  There will be crafts and more at the Easter Food and Gift Fayre in Westcliff. The free event will see more than 30 traders selling Easter gifts. It will take place on Saturday, April 1, from 11am to 3pm at the Kings Road United Reform Church in Westcliff. See Facebook for more details.
  •  The Essex Badger Protection Group is hosting an Easter Family Fun Day at the Hockley Community Centre. It will take place on Saturday 1 April from 11am until 4pm at the Hockley Community Centre. Search “Essex Badger Protection Group” on Facebook.
  • Battlesbridge Vintage Easter Fair on Sunday 9 April will run from 10am where there will be a vintage tea-dance with Mrs Dickiebows jive dancing group. Located at Battlesbridge Showground, Maltings Road it costs £5 per person, under twos go free. Visit www.battlesbridge.co.uk. 
  •  Come and read Five Little Easter Bunnies at Langdon Woodland Storytime and an egg hunt.Meet outside the visitor centre at Langdon Visitor Centre. See see www.essexwt.org.uk/nature-reserves/langdon. 
  •  Join Wickford chocolatier Emily from Tempered Peach and learn how to create your own Easter egg at Create98 in Leigh on Tuesday 4 April from 7pm to 9pm. At the same venue on April 6, there will be Easter baking for kids aged six to 10. 
  • On April 2 there is the Tyrrells Hall Spring and Easter Fair from 12pm in Dock Road, Grays. 
  •  Dress up and enjoy the Easter party at Western Dance Centre in Benfleet on Thursday April 6 from10.30amuntil 12pm. Tickets must be purchased in advance at £8.50 per child. 
  • Head to Hopefield Animal Sanctuary at Sawyer’s Hall Farm on Saturday April 8 and 9 for inflatables, live performances and more.
