A MAN has been slapped with 200 hours of unpaid work after trashing a train station.
Lee Fisher was found guilty of damaging Southend East station on March 2.
The station was among three across south Essex damaged in the space of three days.
Both Basildon and Westcliff stations were damage; the culprits have yet to be identified.
Fisher, 27, and of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to criminal damage at Southend Magistrates’ Court on Monday, March 6.
He was sentenced to a 12-month community order and 200 hours of unpaid work.
British Transport Police inspector Thomas Boulter said: “I am pleased that Fisher has now been sentenced for his vandalism targeting a C2C owned station in Essex.
“This result is testament to the quick investigative work of our officers. Mindless acts such as this will never be tolerated, and we are committed to supporting our rail industry colleagues to bring those responsible to justice.”
