RESIDENTS could be left with electricity this morning as engineers carry out works.
UK Power Networks has reported an emergency power cut that will impact Canvey residents.
Some of the areas that may be hit include Link Road, Long Road, St Joseph Catholic School, as well as other key spots in the SS8 9 postcode.
The power will be turned of for around an hour from 12pm and power should return at 1pm.
A spokesman from UK Power Network said: "A fault has occurred on a piece of our electrical equipment which controls the power to houses in the SS8 9 area.
"For our engineers to carry out work safely they need to turn the power off.
"Our electricity network is designed in such a way that properties in the same street are often supplied by different electricity cables.
"This means that the electricity line that supplies your property could be faulty, but the line that supplies your neighbour's property is fine.
