Powercut in Workington
More than 3,000 homes across south Essex have been hit with a powercut this morning, with eight postcodes affected by the shortage of power.
UK Power Networks has announced that Rayleigh, Wickford and Hockley are among the affected areas with the following postcode areas hit by the power cut: SS11 7, SS11 8, SS5 4, SS5 5, SS5 6, SS6 8 and SS6 9.

The firm says there's been six customers call about the incidents and the power is expected to be back between 9am and 10am this morning.
The website says it was due to an unexpected overhead cable fault that affected 3718 properties.
