AN adorable nine-week old puppy was snatched from a Basildon home during a break-in – leaving the owners devastated and pleading for help.

Brandon Lee, 25, had his home in Methersgate, Basildon, targeted by crooks last week who not only stole the puppy, but also his PlayStation 5, an “expensive” watch and roughly £1,000 in cash.

The puppy, named Chucky, is an expensive micro-bully and has a distinctive “one green outer ring to the left eye” and “baby blue to the right”.

Brandon, 25-years-old, had only just bought the dog for his three-year-old son as a present.

He had never left Chucky alone until the break-in last Wednesday – when he had nipped down the road to visit his mum.

He told he Echo: “I went up to my mum’s for less than 15 minutes, and by the time I was back, my front door was open.

“I sprinted up stairs and as I opened the bedroom door the dog was out of his cage and gone.

“An expensive watch, my PlayStation 5 and a large sum of money was also taken.

“But I don’t want those bits back, I just want my son’s dog.

“I have been so good and worked so hard for everything I have now got. My son is heartbroken.”

Essex Police has been made aware of the break-in and anyone with information should contact the force as a matter of urgency.

Brandon added: “We need him home.

“He is only a puppy too, so he needs his injections soon.

“The fact someone has done it when as I just popped out, shows they obviously knew the risk of doing it.

“Please make him too hot to handle and help us get him home.”

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We are investigating a burglary at an address in Short Acre, Basildon where a dog was stolen.
