Police discovered a "large" knife in a car stolen from a south Essex town after reports from residents.
Essex Police's control room tweeted today thanking a 999 caller who alerted them to a "suspicious" vehicle in Braintree.
Police officers were on the scene within 10 minutes and found the car unlocked.
It was discovered the car had been stolen two days earlier from Stanford-le-Hope, and officers who searched the vehicle found a large knife inside.

A force control room spokesman posted: "A massive thank you to a member of the public who called us on 999 reporting a suspicious vehicle in Braintree.
"We allocated officers and they were on scene within 10 minutes and located the vehicle unlocked.
"In the vehicle they discovered a large knife and later established the vehicle was stolen two days ago from Stanford-le-Hope.
"Vehicle recovered and will be returned to the keeper soon."
