A “HEAVILY resourced investigation” has been ongoing in Shoebury after a man was sustained a gunshot wound yesterday morning.

Essex Police is currently investigating an incident in Shoebury where a man was left with a gunshot wound.

This incident occurred in a car park on Frobisher Way, shortly after 2am on Sunday morning.

Officers were called following reports of a man being shot in the leg.

The victim was taken to hospital, but his condition is not believed to be life-threatening.

Following the incident, police understood there will be quite a bit of concern among the community.

However, officers have been in the area carrying out enquiries since yesterday and have heavily resourced this investigation.

No arrests have been made, and police are continuing to urge anyone with any information to get in contact.

Chief Insp, Daniel McHugh. said “I understand how concerning this incident is to the local community.

“We have resourced this investigation heavily and have a number of officers dedicated to carrying out enquiries today, including taking statements and gathering evidence at the scene.

“No arrests have been made at this stage, but I can assure the public that we are doing everything possible to identify who is responsible.

“If anyone was in the area this morning and witnessed anything suspicious, please contact us and assist with this investigation.

“Please quote incident 152 of 14 May when providing any information to make sure it gets to the right person as quickly as possible.”
