A spokesman for UK Power Networks said: "Our engineers have confirmed the fault is an overhead cable damaged by a third party.

"They have been able to divert more power around the fault, restoring 301 properties and leaving 32 still affected.

"To allow time for repairs, we are now estimating the remaining properties affected to be back on between 16:30 and 17:30.
