A teenager was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition after a serious crash in south Essex.

It was reported a black BMW X1 and an e-scooter were involved in a crash in Ship Lane, Aveley at around 8am yesterday (May 30).

The rider of the e-scooter, a 19 year-old man, sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition.

Two people – a 22 year-old man from Aveley and a 28 year-old woman from Grays – were arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.

They have both since been released under investigation.
