TRAVELLERS have pitched up in Shoebury... but it shouldn't be long before they move on.
Pictures seen by the Echo show several caravans on the Bellway Homes site at Gunners Park.
It is believed the travellers had previously set up an unauthorised encampment at Warners Bridge Park, in Sumpters Way, which is the home of Southend Rugby Club, before relocating to Gunners Park yesterday evening.
Independent Shoebury councillor Nick Ward confirmed Southend Council is aware of the encampment and that enforcement action has commenced.
The travellers have been given until 6pm today to leave the site before they are forced to move on.
