A popular Southend seafront hotel welcomes an "exciting arrival" on its newly refurbished beachside terrace today.

Roslin Beach Hotel revamped its "beachside utopia" terrace in recent months, The Garden, which boasts panoramic views of the estuary.

Now, the outdoor dining area, inspired by the "warmth of Palm Beach and luxurious laid back al fresco dining", is welcoming its very own pizzeria.

Guests are invited to try out the new menu as it launches today (July 12), with a "buy one, get one half-off" offer.

In an announcement, a spokesman for the Roslin said: "Get ready as The Garden restaurant welcomes the arrival of its very own Pizzeria.

"To commemorate the launch of our exciting new menu, we extend a special invitation for you and your loved ones to order any pizza, and we'll treat you to 50 per cent off the second."

The offer is valid all day today and tomorrow (July 13).

The menu features classics such as Margherita and Pepperoni, as well as options unique to the venue such as the "Vegan Roslin".

A £10million expansion of the 4-star Thorpe Esplanade hotel is set to begin next year, w which will create additional rooms and parking.

The plans were agreed last year for the hotel to undergo a major refurbishment creating five plush new rooms and more than 60 extra car parking spaces.
