1. Roslin Beach Hotel, in Thorpe Esplanade:
The Roslin is set opposite a beautiful sandy beach, with views of the Thames Estuary.
The food at the Roslin is award winning. Diners can eat either inside or on a beachside outdoor area.
The business covers breakfast, brunch, and dinner as well as afternoon tea. It also has vegan options too.
Some of the food on the A La Carte menu includes steamed Devon crab, Shetland scallops, Essex lamb rump, as well as free range chicken to name a few.
The afternoon tea has a wide range of sandwiches, alongside seasonal pastries and delicacies.

2. The Seafood Shack, in Eastern Esplanade:
The Seafood Shack is a friendly bar and grill situated in Southend.
Last November, it was rated "number one Southend restaurant", according to Tripadvisor.
The owners are Sandy Van Deventer and Wendy Church - two lifelong friends, who wanted to take on a new venture.
It specialises in fresh and tasty seafood both hot and cold as well as options for non-fish eaters.
Some of the menu options includes garlic mussels, hot crab dip, Seafood Shack fish sandwich, and salt beef sandwich.

3. Ocean Beach, in Eastern Esplanade:
Ocean Beach is a restaurant and bar with a modern cuisine.
It has an in glass dining room with a deck terrace offering views over the Thames Estuary.
The owners of Ocean Beach had recently opened a second restaurant in Old Leigh - called Cockleshed No.1.
Ocean Beach offer lunch and dinner, alongside breakfast.
Items range some lasagne, seafood linguine, fish and chips, a variety of salads, as well as ciabattas.

4. The Oaktree, in Leigh Road:
The Oaktree is a vegan and vegetarian restaurant located in Leigh.
It opened back in 2013 and is owned by husband and wife, Samantha and Jim Anderson.
It offers brunch, lunch, and dinner - which are all "100 per cent" vegan.
Some of the items on offer included mac and cheese, nachos, calamari, "chicken" katsu, and cheese and "bacon" rigatoni.
