SEVERAL drink drivers appearing in south Essex magistrates court were convicted of driving under the influence last month.

The legal limit is 35 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

We have compiled a list of some of the motorists who have been sentenced in courts this month for drink driving on south Essex roads:

  • James Killingback of Wood Green, Basildon, was stopped by officers in Timberlog Close, Basildon on July 26 and found to have 75 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

The 27-year-old pleaded guilty when appearing in Basildon Magistrates Court on August 17 and was fined £440.

Killingback was banned from driving for 18 months with a disqualification reduction period of 18 weeks.

  • Anand Kumar, 32, of Passingham Avenue, Billericay, recorded 55 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when stopped by officers in Hixstar Lane, Billericay, on July 30.

Kumar pleaded guilty at Basildon Magistrates Court on August 18.

He was fined £392 and banned from driving for 15 months with a disqualification reduction period of 15 weeks.

  • Igor Kubaievskyi, of Farmstead Road, Catford, London, was stopped by officers in Chalkwell Avneue, Westcliff on August 12

The 38-year-old was found to have 104 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when tested.

Kubaievskyi pleaded guilty at an appearance in Southend Magistrates Court on August 14 and was handed a 12 month community order

He was also banned from driving for 25 months, drinking alcohol for two months and must complete 60 hours of unpaid work within the next year.

  • Colin Holwill of King George VI Avenue, East Tilbury, was convicted of driving under the influence in Muckingford Road on March 10.

When tested, the 41-year-old was found to have 114 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Holwill pleaded guilty in Southend Magistrates Court on August 14 and was fined £120.

He was also banned from driving for 15 months.

At the August 14 hearing, Holwill also pleaded guilty to possessing a quantity of amphetamine on March 10 and was given no separate penalty.
