Popular budget airline easyJet has announced its summer 2024 schedule with a host of routes from Southend Airport.

The leading airline has put its flights for next summer on sale this week, with flights at Southend Airport from as early as April up until September 1 now available, so customers have the opportunity to book early and get the best fares for next summer.

Southend's schedule includes flights to Palma from May 31, Faro from May 1, Malaga from April 3 and Amsterdam through to September - though no flights in April are available to the Netherlands' capital.

An airport spokesman said: "We are delighted to see tickets for Palma de Mallorca, Faro, Malaga and Amsterdam ready to purchase."

Many holidaymakers have expressed their disappointment that Alicante was not included in easyJet's summer schedule, after the hotly-anticipated return of flights to the Spanish city from Southend.

However, Southend Airport's team remain hopeful the destination will be added to the summer flight schedule in the coming weeks alongside Paris.

They added: "We expect easyJet to continue to update their summer flight schedule over the weeks and hope to see Alicante and Paris from London Southend Airport included."

As well as the easyJet flights, Southend will see flights to Bourgas next summer operated by Balkan Holidays.

The "shoppers paradise" on the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast has spectacular beaches and is synonymous with “partying” and its nightlife.

These recent announcements have been hailed as "further assurance" of Southend Airport's commitment to rebuilding its offering as CEO John Upton previously said momentum for new and returning routes is "on the up".

Bosses are confident there is even more to come for summer 2024.
