A man is in critical condition after police were called to the QEII bridge following reports of concerns for the safety of a man this morning.
Essex Police was called to the Dartford Crossing shortly before 8am today (September 28) following concerns for the safety of a man.
The force assisted Kent Police and HM Coastguard to recover a man in the water, who had sustained serious injuries.
The man has been taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We are aware of footage circulating on social media depicting an individual on the bridge.
"We would ask that the public do not share this footage further out of respect for the individual concerned and his family."
