A man has been left with a serious injury as police have launched an investigation into an incident on a busy Southend road.

Police were called around 12.15pm on Saturday September 23 to reports of an assault at Eastern Avenue, just prior to the roundabout at Garons, also known as A1159.

The driver of a vehicle got out of his car and spoke to the driver of a silver grey Ford Fiesta.

As the driver of the Fiesta drove off, it caused the victim, a man 30s, to fall against some railings and he sustained a fractured shoulder.

Investigating officers are treating the incident as GBH.

A spokesman for Essex Police commented: "We want anyone who was in the area at the time and has dash cam, to check to see if they have captured any footage that could help their investigation."
