Southend drivers have seven sets of roadworks to look out for in and near the Kursaal ward this week.

This includes highway works by Southend Council opposite Tesco Express on Southchurch Avenue, between October 19 and 23. Crews will renew a damaged water box cover. There will be some carriageway incursion, but delays are "unlikely".

Water works by Essex and Suffolk Water will take place outside 47 Park Lane between tomorrow (October 17) and October 19. Traffic control will be in place and delays are likely, according to

Anglian Water is also carrying out water works at Fairheads Green car park, between tomorrow and Wednesday (October 17 and 18). Traffic control - give and take - will be in place and delays are "possible".


Telecoms work will be undertaken by Next Gen Access outside Norman Harris House on Queensway, between October 18 and 20 this week. There will be no carriageway, therefore delays are unlikely.

Gas works by Cadent will see some carriageway incursion in Southchurch Road, this week until October 19. Despite this, delays are unlikely.

Highway works by Southend Council are being carried out at the junction of Ferndown Close and Southchurch Road until February 15. However, there is no carriageway incursion and delays are unlikely.

The council has also noted ongoing roof repair works outside Sealife Adventure in Eastern Esplanade, which will be undertaken until November 27. There is no carriageway incursion and delays are not expected.
