Plans have been unveiled to transform an empty shop in a busy Westcliff road into a two-bedroom flat.
A planning application has been submitted to Southend Council this week to convert 164 London Road in Westcliff into a residential flat.
According to the plans the shop, which was once home to Scarlett Fireplaces, has been empty for "a long time".

If approved, the flat will have two bedrooms. The building already contains an upper floor two-bedroom flat.
The amended proposal comes after previous plans to convert the entire building into four one-bedroom flats were withdrawn in September.
The road, close to Hamlet Court Road, features plenty of shops and residential developments.
Southend Council will decide on the plans.
Scarlett Fireplaces relocated to Unit 1a, Battlesbridge Harbour, Chelmsford Road, Rawreth, SS11 8TD. Visit www.designafireplace.com for more information.
