A POPULAR Leigh restaurant is set to unveil a completely new look after its owners invested thousands of pounds to transform it.

The Estuary, in the Broadway, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner to the community on a daily basis in its “cold and industrial feel setting”.

But bosses have now stumped up thousands to “brighten up the place and make it more cosy and inviting”.

Tom Broderick, business operations manager at The Estuary Broadway, said: “The purpose of the refurbishment is to freshen the venue up again.

“This includes new tables, chairs, wallpaper and lights all being installed to ensure the space gives off a warm and cosy feeling for our diners.

“We thought to do the work now before December as we normally get loads of people making reservations for the Christmas period.”

The two-week-long project commenced on Monday, and the restaurant is set to briefly re-open on Friday night and close again on Monday (November 13).

Workers will then resume working from Monday to Thursday, with the completion of the project being next Friday (November 17).

It comes as the firm expanded its Arches venue, in Palmeira Parade, in June last year to make the site more spacious for guests.

The Estuary Broadway sits between East Street and West Street.

It serves dishes, such as a large full English breakfast for £14.95, mouth-watering baby back ribs smothered in smoky BBQ sauce for £20.95, and handmade steak, ale and mushroom pie for £18.95.

In addition, guests can tipple on a wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, from cocktails all priced at £10.95 or even buy a bottle of Verve Cliquot Brut champagne for £49.95.

Their “extensive” food menu, which is described as “high-quality produce”, caters for all tastes, ages and occasions.

Diners have been high in their praise of the restaurant, with one saying: “A great place for lunch.

“Could not fault any of our time dining there.”

And another commending the staff for being “polite and quick”.
