NEW food hygiene ratings have been awarded to ten south Essex establishments; the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

The scheme gives businesses a rating from five to zero, with five being hygiene standards are very good, and zero being urgent improvement is required.

Here are the establishments in south Essex that have been awarded a new hygiene rating:

Southend:

Cafe 316 at 316 London Road, Westcliff was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on October 27.

Il Pescatore at 4 Queens Road, Southend was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on October 27.

Nevra Restaurant at 719 London Road, Westcliff was handed a three-out-of-five rating after assessment on October 3.

Liquid Flair, a restaurant, cafe or canteen at 142 Broadway, Leigh was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on May 23.

Frank Philips House (Abbeyfield), a 5 at Frank Philips House, 107 Oaken Grange Drive, Southend was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on July 7.

The Pizza Man, a takeaway at 345 Victoria Avenue, Southend was handed a three-out-of-five rating after assessment September 29.

Basildon:

The Crown Pub and Dining, a pub, bar or nightclub at 2 High Street, Billericay was handed a three-out-of-five rating after assessment on October 3.

Little Beans Cafe, at Unit 10 Willowdale Centre, High Street, Wickford was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on June 13.

All Seasons Restaurant, at Alton Garden Centre, Arterial Road, Wickford was handed a two-out-of-five rating after assessment on October 2.

Orleto Lounge, a restaurant, cafe or canteen at Unit 2 East Square, Basildon was handed a four-out-of-five rating after assessment on September 29.
