THREE people were rushed to hospital after an accident which has left a road closed for hours.

Essex Police says officers were called to a collision between two scrambler bikes in Clifton Road, Rochford, at about 4am today.

The emergency services remain at the scene and the road is expected to be closed for several hours.

Officers investigating the crash have now launched an appeal for witnesses to come forward.

A spokesman for the force said: “Our officers are appealing for any information, doorbell or dashcam footage that will help them with their ongoing investigation into a collision in Rochford.

“We were called to reports of a collision between two scrambler bikes in Clifton Road at about 4am this morning (Saturday, November 18).

“We are at the scene of the incident and working with emergency service colleagues while we carry out our investigations.

“Three people have been injured and taken to hospital by paramedics for further treatment.

“We would like to thank the residents and wider community for their patience while this incident is ongoing, and the road is expected to remain closed for a number of hours today.”

Police officers would now like to hear from anyone in the Clifton Road area who has not yet been contacted, especially if they have doorbell footage of the vehicles involved.
