A spokesman said: ”We’re delighted to announce the arrival of Tarka, our new Asian Short-Clawed Otter!
“Tarka arrived from Dartmoor last week, and is already enjoying his new environment with our other otter, Connie.
“You may notice there is a separation between the two otters. These animals are currently being separated to make the introduction process as smooth as possible. However, they are still able to see and interact with each other!
“We hope you are excited to see these two together.”
This comes after a major redevelopment at the centre's Ocean Tank over the summer as its two female Blacktip Reef Sharks left for their forever home at Blue Planet Aquarium in Chester.
The new ocean tunnel features two young zebra sharks Xena and Ripley.
