ROCHFORD Council has announced free Saturday parking in the run up to Christmas in a bid to support shopping local this Christmas.
Shoppers will be able to park for free every Saturday in December in all council-owned car parks.
There will be free parking on Saturday, December 2, 9, 16, and 23.
This initiative aims to encourage residents and visitors to take advantage of the vibrant local shopping areas during the festive season.
Vilma Wilson, councillor responsible for public spaces and assets at Rochford Council, said: "The Christmas period can be a busy time for everyone.
"By providing free parking on these four Saturdays in December, we want to support our local businesses and make it easier for people to shop local, meet up with friends or celebrate the festive season with their loved ones."
This comes after Southend Council confirmed they will be offering free parking every Sunday throughout December at all council-owned car parks.
