TONIGHT is Rayleigh’s turn to switch-on its twinkling festive lights.
The event will be held in the High Street between 4pm and 6.30pm.
Those wishing to be a part of the festivities will be treated to performances by talent, such as Megan Rose and the Mushroom Theatre Company.
School choirs will also be performing on the stage where BBC Essex will then be switching on the lights at 6.30pm.
There will also be children’s rides, food stalls and roasted chestnut stalls.
Toilets at Crown Hall, The Pavilion in the King George V Playing Field and Pink Toothbrush are open throughout the evening.
Extra public parking is available at Fairview Playing Field car park.
Taxis will be able to collect and drop people off from the Civic Suite, in Hockley Road.
There will be notices on bus stops displaying changes to services.
