THOUSANDS of pounds worth of cannabis has been seized by police after they stopped a vehicle in Southend.
A 23-year-old man of no fixed abode has been arrested for drugs offences and being in possession of criminal property.
Essex Police’s Op Falcon team were in Southend on Thursday, November 30, conducting enquiries linked to Castle Point.
Officers stopped a vehicle and searched the driver and car, where they found 137 sealed bags of cannabis.
On the driver, they found £400 in cash and the cannabis was valued at about £9000.
Police confirmed he has been interviewed, charged and remanded to court.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: “The driver was searched under the misuse of drugs act.
“In the vehicle 137 sealed bags of cannabis were found and seized, along with £400 in cash on the driver.”
