A MAN was stabbed last night in South Essex after two males demanded his phone and wallet.

Police are investigating an attempted robbery in Canvey are appealing for witnesses and information.

They were called by ambulance service colleagues to Parklands, off Hilton Road in Canvey, shortly after 10.55pm last night.

It was reported a man had suffered a stab wound to his leg after he was approached by two male suspects wearing balaclavas.

They allegedly demanded his wallet and phone, but nothing was taken from the victim.

The man was taken on to hospital and his injuries are not deemed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: “Officers were on the scene within ten minutes, conducting swift enquiries to identify potential suspects and witnesses.

“One suspect was described as aged around 14, while the other was described as aged around 16 years old.

“Both were wearing balaclavas, one was wearing a grey tracksuit and a black bodywarmer, while the other wore a black tracksuit.

“Enquiries into this incident are progressing and officers need any witnesses, or anyone who may have relevant doorbell or dashcam footage, to come forward.
