SPECIAL police officers dealt with a number of incidents including a "sudden death" during a takeover in Southend.
Essex Police volunteer officers gave up more than 60 hours of their time to work alongside regular officers in Southend as part of another "takeover".
On Sunday, volunteer officers, also known as Specials, led the policing response in Southend, providing more than 60 hours of high visibility patrols on a very busy late turn.

The takeover team took charge and dealt with a variety of incidents, arresting one person as a result of a warrant, and taking statements to support investigations.
The volunteer officers also attended and dealt with incidents including theft and robbery, a domestic incident, an abandoned call, two mental health incidents, public order, and a sudden death.
