SOUTHEND Sea Cadets has had its unit named the best in the London region.
TS Implacable was recognised at Thursday’s cadet service and awards evening at Saint Margaret’s Church, in Lime Avenue, Leigh.
Now, it is waiting to hear regarding the national title.
In attendance was Southend West MP Anna Firth, who said: “My thanks to our fantastic sea cadets for having me at their awards evening and service.
“They were meticulous, incredibly polite and outstandingly high performing.
“My very best of luck to them for the national title.”
Southend Sea Cadets aims to give young people an “experience that will help them grow into the person they want to be in a safe and friendly environment”.
Through a range of activities, including sailing, and adventures, teamwork, respect, loyalty, self-confidence, commitment, self-discipline, honesty are learnt.
