SOUTH Essex disability charity Hamelin Trust is holding a Christmas tree collection to raise funds and help residents recycle their festive spruce.

Collection will take place from 10th to 12th January across the SS4 1, SS4 3, SS4 9, SS5, SS6, SS7, SS9, SS11 and SS12 postcodes in exchange for a donation.

Funds will help the charity’s work supporting autistic adults and people with learning disabilities across mid and south Essex to live the life they choose.

Martyn Dolton, fundraising and marketing manager at Hamelin Trust, said: “Disposing of your Christmas tree is probably one of the least exciting, and most annoying, festive things to do, but we can help.

“No need to cram it in your wheelie bin or find pine needles in your car for the next six months after taking it to the recycling centre.

“Donations made through our Christmas tree collection will have a huge impact on the lives of the people we support.

“Thank you for making a difference.”

Residents can book their real tree in now via just-helping.org.uk/register-tree with registrations closing on Thursday, January 4 at midnight.
