STARBUCKS has opened its shop at Basildon’s newest retail park which has been well received by the community.
The American coffee titan, best known for its range of hot beverages and ice-cold frappuccinos, started welcoming customers at 6am this morning.
Those who were up at the crack of dawn and among the first 100 guests to step inside the modern-looking, two-storey store, in Miles Gray Road, received a free reusable cup.
It has now joined the Lidl, Greggs, which is next door, Tile and Bathroom Mountain, Lok’nStore self-storage and Magnet units already open at the site opposite Pipps Hill.
Kevin Elmy, 63, from Hadleigh, visited just before 11am today with his granddaughter.
He said: “It’s a very lovely store and the staff are brilliant.
“My granddaughter wanted to come here, so I decided we will and have something to drink.
“I’m very impressed, and I’m sure it’s going to do very well.”
Similarly, Jenny Lukas, 37, from London, came down with her friend to the St Hilary’s Retail Park Starbucks for a coffee.
She said: “It’s absolutely lovely.
“The staff were so inviting and friendly and our tea and Eggnog Latte were perfect.
“I would definitely recommend this Starbucks.”
Spread out across two floors, it boasts 96 inside seats, plus 12 outside, as well as toilet facilities and Wi-Fi.
Mobile ordering and delivery are also available at this store.
The opening hours for Starbucks St Hilary’s Retail Park are 6am to 8pm, Monday to Saturday, and 6am to 7pm on Sundays.
