NEW Essex forecasts have predicted whether Southend is more likely to get snow next week, with much colder temperatures expected.

Predictions from Essex forecasters have revealed Essex temperatures will drop ‘well below average’ both during the day and at night.

The Met Office says the weekend will begin cloudy and cool across much of England.

A spokesman for the Met Office said: “The south will remain cloudy on Sunday, with forecasters expecting some outbreaks of rain.

“Elsewhere will be colder with sunny spells and wintry showers.”

Figures show temperatures could drop as low as -2 this weekend and during the week, the numbers could go as low as -5.

Despite the weather dropping next week, no snow is expected across the Essex area, with mostly dry condition throughout.

Northern areas could see more significant snowfall on Tuesday, while there is a small chance of snow in the south on Wednesday.
