Dogs Trust's Basildon's rehoming centre has shared five adorable pups in need of a forever home.

Sky, a lurcher cross

Echo:

Sky is ready to search for her forever home. She can live with children over the age of 14 years old that are used to big, bouncy and strong dogs. Sky can potentially live with another dog of a similar size, pending a successful dog introduction at the centre.

However, she does like to play rough and is very "high energy" with other dogs. She can open doors and will need a secure private garden to explore in. Experience with large dog breeds would be beneficial.

Shadow, a Staffordshire bull terrier

Echo:

Shadow needs an adult-only home with not many visitors and no visiting children. This is because he jumps up a lot in stressful situations. He is very noise-sensitive and will grab onto the items that worry him.

He needs understanding owners who will take things slowly with him and help him gain confidence in his new home. Shadow must be the only dog in the home as he can be reactive to dogs, so he will need to go on quiet walks with not many dogs around.

Shadow is strong on the lead and was known for lunging at dogs in his previous home. His new owners will work closely with the centre's training team to make sure he is all set up for his new home.

Arlo, a poodle cross

Echo:

Arlo is a sweet lad who is can live with children aged eight years and over who are used to bouncy, energetic dogs. Arlo can live with another calm dog, pending a successful dog introduction at the centre.

He can be vocal and is an energetic dog who loves his walks. Arlo would benefit from a secure private garden to explore in.

Blair, a Labrador

Echo:

Blair is big ball of energy seeking an active home. He can live with children over the age of 14 years that are used to big, bouncy and strong dogs who can get loud when over-excited.

He is very strong on the lead so will need owners who are dedicated to doing loose-lead training with him. He must be the only dog in the home as can be uncomfortable meeting new dogs.

Blair's new owners will need to continue with his dog socialisation skills and help him gain confidence around meeting dogs. He would benefit from a secure garden to explore in.

Spruce, a lurcher

Echo:

Spruce is a six-year-old Lurcher who came to the centre through no fault of his own. He can be left alone for up to four hours, which will need to be built up over time. Spruce is a real foodie who likes his treats but can be a bit snatchy. He also loves a fluffy toy.

The lurcher is not used to the car so will need to build up car journeys slowly with patience and training. Spruce is a sweet chap with lots of love to give.

If you love a lurcher, then you need not look any further. This lurcher will definitely "spruce" up any home.
