Dogs Trust's Basildon's rehoming centre has shared five adorable pups in need of a forever home, including a bulldog, a cocker spaniel, and a retriever.

Cleo, a lurcher

Echo:

Cleo is a three-year-old Lurcher who arrived at the centre with little previous history. She loves her food and is very smart, which really helps with her training. Cleo really enjoys playing with enrichment toys, and figuring out how to get the tasty treats out keeps her mentally stimulated.

She loves soft, fluffy toys too but can get overwhelmed at times, so trainers like to keep her playtimes calm. Cleo can be left for up to four hours alone, if this is built up over time once she is settled in her new home. She is not housetrained yet, but with ongoing training in her new home, she will pick it up over time.

Lolly, a golden retriever Pomeranian cross

Echo:

Lolly is a three-and-a-half-year-old  a sweet girl with bundles of energy.

She is looking for an active home. Lolly is very nervous when meeting new people but once she has got to know you and built a bond, she is very affectionate and playful. Lolly is super clever and loves her training. She will need to be muzzled on her vet visits.

Honcho, a French bulldog cross

Echo:

Honcho is looking for experienced owners who have owned dogs with guarding issues around food and toys before as he has bitten other these items. He needs an adult-only home with no visiting children who have a good understanding of dog behaviour and able to give him space when needed. He will need a private secure garden he can potter around in without any distractions. Honcho must be the only pet in the home and will need ongoing dog socialisation in his new home as he gets fixated and intense.

Honcho's new family will be working closely with the centre's training team, with multiple meets at the centre before he can go home. He needs a quiet home as he can get easily overwhelmed in situations and will bark. He will need an area of the home that can be dedicated space for him where he can be left alone. Honcho is on long term pain medication which can be discussed in more detail on application.

Biscuit, a cockerpoo

Echo:

Biscuit is a ten-year-old cockerpoo who was brought to the centre through no fault of his own. He is a lovely boy once he gets to know you and will come over to you for a fuss, but he doesn't like being picked up.

He is still full of energy and loves playing with toys and exploring on his walks. Biscuit can be left alone for up to four hours and travels well in the car. He is seeking a quiet home with not many visitors and a soft bed to snuggle up in.

Bambi, an English bull terrier

Echo:

Bambi is a super sweet girl, who is perfect for English Bull Terrier lovers. She can live in a home with a family with children over the age of 16 years, who are used to mouthy dogs and understand how to manage them. She will need to be the only dog in the home but would benefit from walking buddies to help build her dog socialisation skills.

Bambi loves a fuss but can be a bit conflicted over some handling. Owners with previous rescue dog experience would be an advantage, along with an understanding of the Bull Terrier breed as she does exhibit typical Bull Terrier traits. She is finding kennel life stressful.

Bambi would benefit from meeting her new owners a couple of times before she goes home, to build a bond.
