MOTORISTS have complained of two-hour queues in Maldon Road to get to Colchester Zoo after the venue advertised tickets at just £10 per person.
Reports surfaced on social media on Sunday of visitors being held up in tailbacks in Warren Lane and Maldon Road.
On Saturday, Colchester Zoo published a post on social media advertising pre-booked tickets for just £10 per person.

But the popularity of the offer looks to have contributed to huge traffic queues, with people writing on X to share their frustration at being unable to get to the zoo for the day.
One account, @schogan310, wrote at 12.27pm: “@ColchesterZoo what's going on today? I've spent £50 on tickets and been sat on traffic for over an hour 1km from car park.
“Will we get in or get parked? Will we get a refund?
If you're thinking about going to Colchester Zoo today, don't bother. 2 mile queues in all directions going nowhere. pic.twitter.com/T5E873QTcb

“We only have until 4pm so this all feels like wasted time and money – and you're not answering the phone!
Another account, @bluetractor, wrote half an hour later: “If you're thinking about going to Colchester Zoo today, don't bother.
“Two mile queues in all directions going nowhere.”
