NEW food hygiene ratings have been awarded to eight Southend establishments; the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.
The scheme gives businesses a rating from five to zero, with five being hygiene standards are very good, and zero being urgent improvement is required.
Here are the establishments in the borough of Southend that have been awarded a new hygiene rating:
Southend:
Rams Fish Bar at 201 Woodgrange Drive, Southend was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on January 29.
Spaghetti Junction at 767 London Road, Westcliff was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on January 23.
Munch King at 274 Eastwood Road North, Leigh was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on January 25.
Zinnia Restaurant at Unit At, Clifftown Shore, Western Esplanade, Southend was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on January 26.
Jay Jean's Cafe at 571 London Road, Westcliff was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on January 19.
Corner House at 39 Southchurch Road, Southend was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on January 18.
Twenty One at 21 Pier Approach, Western Esplanade, Southend was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on January 18.
Terrace Bar & Restaurant at 1 Richmond Avenue, Southend was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on December 20.
